Unbuilt Work

Kosher Kitchen - Brookline, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA provided designs for a complete kitchen renovation to be designed around the needs of a Kosher couple. A challenging aspect of the project was reconfiguring an existing kitchen and bathroom in a tight and irregular space within a century old Victorian home. The project included Kosher kitchen aspects such as impervious countertops, distinct cabinetry for separate sets of serving and cookware as well as Sabbath-mode-capable appliances.

Lockwood Residence Renovation/Addition - Boxford, MA

Working with a repeat client, the designs of BEAUCHER & LEA redefined a 1980s home in the desirable Lockwood Estates development. The designs totally reconfigured the existing house to fit the modern needs of a family of four. The project included a new gourmet kitchen, new master suite and luxury bathroom, and new bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. As well, the unfinished basement was rethought to include a new home theater, game room, home gym and wine cellar.

North End Kitchen - Boston, MA

Working in Boston's historic and densely populated North End, BEAUCHER & LEA is working with a condominium owner to replace an existing inefficient entry/kitchen/dining area with improved aesthetics and functionality. The project involves eliminating walls and adding multiple layers of new storage to allow for improved movement of people, light and air through the currently cramped spaces. The new kitchen will be the nexus of entertainment and cooking for a social urban professional.

Garden Condo Renovation - South End, Boston, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA architecture worked with a professional couple to propose improvements to their recently purchased garden duplex condominium. The garden level unit is located in a classic brick bow front building in Boston's South End. The project included studies to reconfigure the existing master suite from a former "old world bachelor pad" to a functional suite for a modern married couple. Other studies included a new office and entry/mud area. Exterior work included the design of a new deck and stair to allow access from rear parking spaces to the second floor.

Button Factory Condominium - Roxbury, MA

Progressive clients retained BEAUCHER & LEA architecture to orchestrate the expansion of their unique condominium in a former button factory. This project included technical structural and complex zoning and code analysis of the century old concrete and steel building. The new designs added a new master suite, expanded the kitchen/dining areas and replaced the existing roof deck.

Kosher Home Renovation & Addition - Newton Centre, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA provided custom designs for the renovation of an existing 60 year old home including new gourmet kosher kitchen, new half bathroom with custom vessel sink as well as additions to the existing house to accommodate new spaces. BEAUCHER & LEA worked closely with the homeowners to accommodate culturally specific rituals such as hand washing in a ceremonial sink, multiple dishwashers for separate washing of food specific dishware as well as lighting control systems for religious holidays.
